Wynberg Swimming

Swimming Overview

Swimming at Wynberg has steadily developed over the years, with the quality of swimmers produced at Wynberg going from strength to strength. Wynberg continues to break numerous records at inter-school galas, as well as at National Competitions. The Wynberg swimmers often compete at national and even international levels, such as former students Seddon Keyter and Corne Swanepoel, who went on to represent South Africa and New Zealand respectively in the Olympic Games. Wynberg Swimming forms a proud part of the school’s sporting tradition and we are confident that the years to come will only see our swimmers develop and go from strength to strength.

Coaches & Teams

The Head of Swimming at Wynberg Boys’ High is Ms Kayla Hoey. As well as being a major competitor, Wynberg also hosts one of the eight inter-school galas held over the two summer terms. We participate in the annual Newlands A League Gala, which involves all schools in the circuit. Swimmers can expect to participate in four competitive galas per term. Swimmers at Wynberg compete at all levels, from regional up to international competition, allowing them to gain colours, blues, and honours in swimming.
