Cross Country Overview
Cross Country at Wynberg offers boys the opportunity to compete at a high level while developing discipline and endurance. Students run at various tracks, both in and around the school campus and at other schools in the region on a weekly basis. Students are trained by our dedicated coaches to ensure maximum development.

Race days
Usually Wednesdays, with only a few exceptions. We run at a different school each week.
Departure and return: leave 14:45 in the back car park return 18:00 to the back car park

Appropriate school kit is to be worn during practice. At races, learners are to wear their blue Wynberg shorts and their Wynberg athletics vest. If required, players may arrive and leave events in their Wynberg tracksuit.

Coaches & Teams
The Cross Country team is overseen by Ms Lauren Cleophas. Our annual events include the Wynberg Mile, Cross Country, and Grey Weekend. The Wynberg Mile is an Inter-House event comprising of a 1,6km race around the school buildings. Inter-House Cross Country is an event where seniors run 6km around the school’s campus with juniors running 4km. Grey Weekend is an event hosted alternately by Grey High School in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, and home at Wynberg. The event is a four-man 4km leg relay.
