Thursday 11 July 2019: Circular 8 of 2019 - This year we are once again holding a school raffle, of which the proceeds will be used to upgrade our facilities. All Wynberg men are expected to sell at least two completed books of tickets.
Just as Wynberg men in the past have raised funds for you to benefit from the current facilities, it is your turn to contribute to the future of the school and improved facilities, which the next set of brothers in the endless chain can enjoy.
Tickets cost R10 each and there are 10 tickets per book.
Once you have sold your books, you may take another – but you must sign for every book you take. You are responsible for the book/s – look after them! Unfortunately, if you lose a book you will have to pay for it.
We are very appreciative of the fact that so many Wynberg men make so much effort, and in recognizing this, the following incentives will be introduced:Tutor whose group sells the most books - R1000 gift voucherLearner with most books sold - R1000 gift voucherTutor group that sells the most books - Pizza and cooldrinkWeekly luck draw from returned books - R50 voucher to the tuckshop

Wynberg Boys' High and Junior School Annual Raffle
Saturday 4 August 2018: Mekor Ford's Drive For Your School initiative is a great opportunity to support Wynberg Boys' High School with minimal effort whilst experiencing the pleasure of test driving a Ford vehicle. Our school sponsors, Mekor Ford Claremont, will have their cars on display from 8am on Saturday 4 August on Silverhurst and Hawthornden Fields during the home rugby derby against Rondebosch, with test drives happening from the top parking area in front of the school.
For every test drive, Ford South Africa will pay the school R100 to a maximum of R10 000. We encourage all parents, families, Old Boys, and friends to test drive one of the available vehicles.
Test drives can be booked with the Mekor Ford representatives at the Ray Connellan scoreboard on the Hawthornden Field.

Friday 2 March 2018, Wynberg Boys' High School: Wynberg brothers, Dylan and Ethan Wasserfall, are gearing up their fundraising efforts for St Luke's Hospice during the 2018 Cape Town Cycle Tour on Sunday 11 March. We wholeheartedly support the service initiatives of our Wynberg Men, and take pleasure in sharing the email we received from Zani Lamb, Head of Operations at St Luke's:
Brothers, Dylan Wasserfall (17) and Ethan Wasserfall (14), both students at Wynberg Boys' High School, will be cycling to make a difference for patients being cared for by St Luke’s Combined Hospices. Dylan and Ethan know first-hand about the work done by St Luke's through their mother who works here. From hearing their mom’s stories, and while helping with office clean up during the December holidays, they gained insight into the challenges families face when coming to St Luke’s.
By raising funds the brothers want to help ensure St Luke’s continues providing quality palliative care through assessing the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of more than 900 patients. The brothers were especially touched by the life of Craig Brown, the son of one of their mom’s colleagues who passed away from cancer when he was 13 years old. The book written by Sue Brown about her son’s journey, ‘The Twinkling of an Eye’ gave the brothers a renewed sense of purpose to again cycle for St Luke’s Hospice.
As Ethan put’s it ‘cancer doesn’t ask your age’. Their campaign is titled ‘Brothers Doing it for Hospice’ - you can follow their progress on their Facebook page and support their efforts through their Back-a-Buddy campaign. We applaud Wynberg Boys' High School for cultivating young men with such social conscience and drive. Take care
Crew For A Cause: Wynberg Old Boys' Scholarship Initiative
Wynberg Boys' High School applauds and supports the groundswell efforts of our Old Wynbergians in actively 'paying forward' the benefits and opportunities experienced at their Alma Mater. Read the story of 'Crew for a Cause', and help us to support them in opening our opportunities to prospective, deserving, Wynberg Men:
At the end of 2017, a few Wynberg Old Boys from the years 2003 and 2004 got together and launched a Non-profit Company called “Crew for a Cause” with the intention of making a difference in someone's life, and do our part to change the future for the better!
The company was set up with the idealism of “through education, we can create employment”, and with this creating as many jobs as possible, to provide self-respect, to feed families, and take a child off the street.
The criteria were clear from the start to enable a previously disadvantaged child the opportunity to go through a school like Wynberg, where we have all learnt so much. And through these criteria, we found an incredible candidate in need, and one who we believe will give back to the school and country in the future.
