Wynberg Boys' High School New Staff 2015

Wynberg welcomes a number of new staff this term:

Mr Chris Moore returns to his old school in Mr Emms’ English post and will be a tutor in Wellington House.

Another old boy returning to his alma mater is Mr Zayd Hendricks who will be in McNaughton.  He is merely extending his teaching tenure as he spent six months in our Science Department last year when he took over from Mr Aaron.

Mr Estian van der Merwe takes over Mr Visagie’s Afrikaans classes and as a tutor in McNaughton House. This will be his second year in the teaching profession.

Mr Ian Clifford will be teaching Science and Maths, and will be a Littlewood tutor.  He will also be Head of Grade 11.

After a number of years working in public relations, Ms Bulelwa Mhlomi decided to go into teaching.  She finished her teaching diploma at UCT and did her teaching prac at Wynberg Girls’ High last year. She will be taking over the Xhosa classes of Ms Siboto and will be a tutor in  Van Riebeeck.

Ms Prisci Naidoo comes to us with a wealth of experience of teaching IT in Natal.  She is a tutor in De Villiers’ House.

Mr Marcus Melck (Tutor in Rhodes House) was with us as a student teacher last year is currently doing research for his PhD in History.  He will be a part-time member of staff in the History and English Departments.

We welcome the return of Mr Neil Eddy after a year’s well-earned sabbatical. He will be a tutor in De Villiers House.

We have a new Gap Year student from Rathkeale in New Zealand with us – Callum Hobbs-Turner.

Mrs Christelle Lefson will be joining our admin staff in the place of Mrs Manley who retired at the end of last year.

We congratulate and wish a number of our teaching staff well who take on new challenges in 2015:  Mr Roland Rudd (Littlewood), Mrs Geraldine van der Westhuizen (De Waal) and Mr Peter Murison (Lorie) take over as House Heads.  Mr Ben Thompson will be responsible for the Academic Portfolio and Mr Larry Moser will head up a new portfolio of Pastoral Affairs. The Directorates of Culture and Service will be split with Ms Sue Lindsay retaining Culture and Mr Rodney Inglis running the Service Portfolio.

Mr Shaun Hewett becomes Assistant Director of Sport while Mrs Jocelyn de Mink takes on the responsibility of running the English department.  Mrs Melanie Wentworth will have her hands full with Grade 8 and running Life Sciences.

Mr Paul Revington returns to us in an interesting capacity: primarily he will be a high-performance coach in hockey but his vast experience in international sport will make him a valuable asset to all our sport coaches.
