Founders’ Day 2014: The Wynberg 175 Flag was formally piped into the Clegg Hall by Pipe Major Charles Canning of the Cape Town Highlanders. where the Flag was presented to the School & Old Boys’ Union by Anthony Rowe & Khaalid Sahiem.
The Charge as read out by Anthony Rowe:
We, the matrics of 2014, give this charge to the School and the Old Boys:
We charge you to take the traditions and the brand of our school into the 175th Anniversary Year.
May this Flag, which represents nearly two centuries of excellence, carry the spirit of Wynberg on its journey around the world until it returns home in February 2016 for the 175 Celebrations.
During the course of Founders’ Week the 175 Flag travelled across the Wynberg Campus to fly at all heritage events. Presented to the Wynberg Old Boys’ at their annual dinner in the Clegg Hall, it travelled to Wynberg Boys’ Junior School for their Flag Raising Ceremony on Thursday 28 August.
For the next two years the 175 Flag will traverse the globe creating awareness among our extended Wynberg Family of the celebrations planned for Wynberg’s 175th year in 2016.
