Naming of the Algie Pavilion

On 6 March 2013, the school took on the Old Boys in all the summer sports. We hosted two tennis teams, three waterpolo teams, four cricket teams and two basketball teams and it was wonderful to see so many Old Boys participating. The highlight of the afternoon, however, was the naming of the cricket pavilion at the Jacques Kallis after a previous Headmaster of Wynberg, Mr Rowan Algie. He was an ardent supporter of cricket at Wynberg and it was he who initiated the development of the magnificent Jacques Kallis Oval and clubhouse. It is fitting that the pavilion now bears his name.
