Cricket & Service: 1st XI Gives Back

Wynberg Boys' High School Cricket: 1st XI at Red Cross Children's Hospital

Beyond the Jacques Kallis Oval: Cricket Giving Back to the Community

Cricket coaches, Messrs Shaun Hewett and Rodney Inglis arranged for Wynberg’s 1st XI to visit the Red Cross Children’s Hospital to spend time with the children and deliver presents  the 1st XI players and parents had collected. The visit was, by all accounts, well received by all.

“To the Boys of the 1st X1 Cricket Team, Wynberg Boys’ High School,

Thank you so much for your delightful donation of toys. Your gift is much appreciated and will benefit our patients who are always grateful and pleased to be given a new toy, to hear a new story or to have something of their very own to cuddle. We were so touched by your kindness and so appreciated the time you took to visit and donate to our children. Thank you for thinking of the patients at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and helping to bring smiles to their little faces.

Each child deserves to be happy after the traumatic experience of hospitalisation. We therefore rely on the support of the community to fulfil this wish.

Your donation is extremely important to us and most especially to our children at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. We need and value your continuing support. Thank you once again.

Yours sincerely,

David Stephens, Executive Director”
