Circular 9

In the name of God, The Beneficent, The Merciful

Dear Muslim Parents / Guardians

At a meeting of the MSA Committee it was agreed that all Muslim families in the school would contribute R300-00 (per boy) or R500 (per family) for the year towards the expenses of the Imam who takes Friday Jum’uah prayers. This payment can be made into the school’s account electronically or by cheque. We prefer that you do not send cash as it is irreplaceable when lost. Please make sure that you reference electronic payments with: your son’s name and Jum’uah.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that your son is provided with an opportunity to meet his religious obligations as well as a venue in which to do so, we in turn request that you ensure that your son brings along a fez, thaub and a musallah. Please remind your son not to be tardy, as this impacts on the time that the Imam has to spend with him and his peers. Prayers start at 12h45 (with a Qhutbah) and ends at 13h20 to afford boys enough time to do the necessary and be on time for the start of test period.

Last year we were able to run a Halaal stall very successfully and will continue to do so for 2015. However, there have been numerous requests for roti and curry as well. If you are willing to run this stall, please contact Jeanette Muller at I will be available as a liaison and guide.

Once the boys have decided which charity we will support, a circular will be sent containing all the details of the event.

This is being arranged in collaboration with Rondebosch Boys’, SACS, Westerford and Rustenberg Girls’ High Schools on 28 March 2015. A number of orphanages are invited and treated to a braai, sweet treats and entertainment in a children’s party-like atmosphere at Rustenberg. We will require your support in the form of donations. Once the schools have had their final planning meeting this weekend, an SMS will be sent with regards to details of the donations required. All our boys are welcome at this event.

If you have any queries, please contact Mrs. S. Gordon via email at All payments are to be completed by 28 February 2015 and if you are sending a cheque, it is to be paid to our Fees Administrator, Mrs. J. Williams. Alternatively, monies may be paid directly into the school’s bank account. Please use your son’s name and MSA Fee as a reference when making an electronic payment.

We wish you all, together with your sons, a meaningful religious experience in this regard.

Yours faithfully
