Dear Parents of Grade 10 Geography pupils,

With Geography being a subject where we try and bring the world into the classroom, it is necessary that we also take the learners out into the world. For this reason we are taking the Grade 10 Geography boys out on an excursion on Thursday 15 September.

This will be in the form of an Urban study. The plan is to go into Cape Town on the train and conduct a walking tour around the CBD. We will take in the Castle, Town Hall, Grand Parade, Adderley Street, St George’s Cathedral, the Company Gardens, Long Street, Green Market Square and one of the museums. It will afford the boys a chance to get a closer look at their city and be made aware of the layout, its buildings and the tourist attractions in the centre of town.

It plans to be an exciting and interesting trip that is not to be missed. Due to the fact that it is an extra excursion the money cannot come out of the excursion fund. The boys therefore need to bring R30 which will cover the transport costs and entrance fees. A packed picnic lunch is required to be enjoyed in the Company Gardens and the dress code is full school tracksuit, 170 top, school shorts and running shoes/trainers.

Boys not dressed correctly will go to normal classes along with those that choose not to attend or who don’t return the reply slip below.

Kind regards
James Whiston and Stefan Kruger
