GREY P.E. TOUR 22, 23 and 24 MAY 2014

1. DEPARTURE
The following teams will depart on Thursday morning at 05h30: Rugby 1st, Surfing, Golf, Chess, Hockey 1st, 2nd, 16A,16E, 14A,14B,14C, Debating, Shooting, Fishing, Squash, Tennis and Table Tennis. The teams departing on Thursday need to be at school by 05h00 and will depart at 05h30.The rest of the teams depart on Friday morning at 05h30 and need to be at school at 05h00 as well.

2. CHECKLIST FOR THE TRIP

Playing kit:  CORRECT AND CLEAN.

Dress on the bus: school tracksuit; running shoes, Wynberg sport shirt and Wynberg shorts underneath. No slip slops, slippers or superga style shoes.

N.B. This is for the trip up on Thursday/Friday and back on Saturday night.

Winter school uniform: for Saturday at Grey. NB Trousers to have belts.

Warm up kit:All teams will warm up in their Wynberg Sport t-shirt

Toiletries: towel, shaving gear, comb, deodorant, tooth brush and paste, any medication needed.

All items are to be clearly marked.

Set of civvies for Friday evening with your hosts.

“Padkos” for the trip up. Please do not pack junk food.

Minimal pocket money.

Pillow and sleeping bag.

Gift for host and card in which you must write a note of thanks

3. DEPARTURE FROM WYNBERG

Busses will depart from the back car park on Thursday and from Lovers Walk on Friday morning.
Parents are requested to drop their son’s off at the front school gate on Thursday morning and in the back car park on Friday morning.

4. STOP-OVERS EN ROUTE

Boys are to wear their full school tracksuit whenever leaving the bus.

Absolutely impeccable behaviour.

Staff member will specify duration of stopover.

No one to go “sight seeing” or walking about.

Roll call will be taken when re-embarking.

No changing of buses.

No littering.

Courtesy to everyone at all times, it is the Wynberg Way!

5. ARRIVAL AT GREY HIGH SCHOOL

BUSES will arrive at approx 16h00 at the Wares Road slipway. Grey are having a “Trooping the colour” ceremony at 14h30 – please respect this by being quiet if you arrive earlier. All boys are to remain on Phillip Field.

Please make sure that the buses are left clean.

RUGBY players will be shown to the De Waal Hall where they should line up in their teams for hosting.

HOCKEY players will be shown to the quad where they should line up in their teams for hosting.

ALL OTHER SPORTSwill be shown to the quad for hosting.

HOSTING

All players will be provided with the following meals:

Friday: Supper

Sat:                  Breakfast

Sat:                  Lunch

Sat:                  Supper

Ask your host if it is possible to come back to school to support the 1st team hockey on Friday evening as it is expected that very boy on tour support the 1st team.

6.       MATCHES

After players have finished their matches, they must change into full school uniform after showering.

7.        DEPARTURE FROM GREY

All boys should return to the Wares Road slipway at 20h30. Buses will depart for

Cape Town at 21h00 after Roll Call from the teacher in charge of the bus.

No changing of buses from the ‘up’ trip.

8.       ARRIVAL AT WYNBERG

Same rules as trip up.

Arrive at Wynberg 07h00 – (Sunday Morning) – Maynardville Car Park.

Please ask your sons to liaise with you continually along route.

Make sure that all buses are clean.

LETTER OF THANKS TO HOSTS

9.       GENERAL

The trip will cost R700 per boy. This must be paid to the Bursar before Wednesday 21 May.

Normal school rules apply for whole trip and while being hosted.

Dress, general appearance to be of highest standard.  Hair, shaving, shoes, clean shirt etc.

Manners: Courteous at all times.  Be friendly, offer to help at host’s home, clear table after meals, make bed etc.  Courteous to coach drivers and staff members.

At stops:  be courteous to shop assistants and people serving you.

Behaviour on bus:  courteous behaviour expected at all times on the buses. No tom-foolery.

No heads out of windows. Remain seated at all times.

Refuse bags for buses will be provided – use them.

WE WILL BE ON SHOW THE MOMENT WE LEAVE WYNBERG

We play all games hard, but the correct Wynberg way. No Referee or umpiring decision will EVER be disputed.
There will be over 500 boys and 40 staff going along and the success of this weekend is dependent on every single one of us.
During games – sit together and let us hear the cheering!
This is going to be a great weekend when we, the Wynberg Family, take our skills, traditions, standards and our Wynberg Brand to Grey High School.
