Dear Parents and Guardians
TERM 2 REPORT INFORMATION
Please find enclosed with this letter your sons report for the second term of 2015. His marks from the first term are also shown so that you are able to view his progress. The reverse of the report contains information on the Wynberg Pass, the Minimum Performance Levels, the end-of-year promotion requirements, what constitutes a University (Bachelors) Pass and an explanation as to the PACE ratings.
House Head, Tutor and Headmaster’s comments
To ensure that we have as much teaching time available as possible, we have moved the examinations to as late in the term as we could. We have also reduced the number of days that this period spans. Due to this, the small amount of time to prepare reports for distribution by the end of term unfortunately precludes time for administering written comments on these reports. Please speak to your son in the first instance if you have questions about his marks; if you would like to find out more then please email his teacher directly.
We strongly encourage electronic communication between our parents and teachers and have an ideal response time of within 24hrs to any enquiry. For parents that would like to come in to school for a meeting, we have our next parent-teacher-pupil meeting on Wednesday 29 July 2015 from 17h00 to 19h00. All meetings are by appointment only. Information on how to book meeting slots will be provided at the start of the third term.
We are making a concerted effort to move away from paper based reporting for numerous reasons – the major ones being cost savings that can help reduce school fee increases and environmental concerns. By the end of the year we may be in a position to issue reports entirely electronically. To this end – we please ask that parents keep house heads informed of any changes to their contact details such as email addresses or cellphone numbers.
We hope that you all enjoy the winter break and that our boys return refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of third term.
