A Brief History

Swimming at Wynberg has progressed wonderfully over the years. We have seen many records broken at interschool galas, as well as at National Competitions, and presently have a number of Western Province swimmers. Two Wynberg Old Boys – S Keyter and C Swanepoel – went on to represent South Africa and New Zealand respectively in the Olympics.

Tournaments:

• Wynberg hosts one of the eight Interscholl galas held over the two summer terms.
• We participate in the annual Newlands A League Gala, which involves all schools in the circuit.

Practice days:
1st and 4th Terms only – no scheduled days

Galas:
Thursdays (3:30pm); 4 galas per term

Dress for players at galas:

• Blue and white striped Wynberg speedo
• Navy swimming cap with Wynberg badge

After a match, players are required to change into full school uniform or the school tracksuit
