Festival Programmes & Match Fixtures

As part of our ongoing Greening Wynberg project, we’ve cut back on sports programme printing. Full fixtures are available online (links above), with sport-specific information being channelled through our Facebook Pages (links below). Wynberg Information Stations for festival and match information will be at the Bill Bowden Pavilion (adjacent the Hawthornden Field on the upper campus), the Algie Pavilion on the Jacques Kallis Oval, and the Hockey Pavilion at the Astro Complex.

Hospitality and Refreshments

Full tuckshop facilities and vendors will be on site at each of the sports venues, with our Bill Bowden Pavilion adjacent the Hawthornden Field open to over-18s throughout the Festival (regret no players or scholars allowed).

Parking and Traffic Flow

With all WBHS fields in action, and with the generous assistance of Wynberg Boys’ Junior School, parking for the three days of the Festival will be restricted to the Junior School Fields. We courteously request all spectators to respect our neighbours and the traffic rules on the public roads around our schools – the traffic department will be patrolling throughout the weekend.

Lovers Walk circle from Herschel Walk will serve as a Drop ‘n Go area for all players and spectators at the High School fields, with the only parking for the duration of the Festival at Wynberg Boys’ Junior School, access via Cavan Road and Cavan Close only. Parking fee of R20 per day, per vehicle (pass outs may be requested from the attendants). Parking exit via Oxford Street, to Baker Road and onto Tenant Road.

See map below for details.

Social Media Festival Coverage

Wynberg’s commitment to presenting the best possible Festival experience goes beyond hospitality on our fields and in our facilities – our social media team is geared to provide as much online coverage of every match in each sport as possible, with a commitment to bringing the action and atmosphere of the 2017 Standard Bank Wynberg Sports Festival to all unable to join us on the sides of the fields, and to providing lasting photo memories for all.
