Wynberg has for decades been well known for its outstanding Music Department with the school choir being an integral part of this tradition of excellence. The choir is aimed at encouraging a love for singing and choral music as well as providing an outlet for boys who love music but cannot read it.

The size of our choir fluctuates but this year it stands at 40 boys, and we also have a Vocal Ensemble comprising 10 boys who are selected by the Choirmaster.

Wynberg Choir Festival
This sell-out festival of choral music was re-introduced by Mr Botha three years ago and features the Cape Welsh Choir plus a minimum of seven local schools. It goes from strength to strength.

2011 Highlights
• The Choir was awarded Honours at the 2011 Eisteddfod and the Vocal Ensemble a Diploma.
• Wynberg’s Choir Festival was a resounding success.
• Our boys were invited to sing at an International Education Conference which was attended by more than 300 delegates from 50 countries.
• The Springfield Choir Festival.
