REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL OF LEARNERS 2008

Teacher in Charge: Mrs. Williamson
Prefect in Charge: Murray Bing
Meeting Venue: C34
Meeting Time: Wednesday 2nd break

RCL Core Committee:

Matrics: Benjamin Nakanyala, Matthew Gruter, Leighton Thomas, Zayd Hendricks, Jamie Tindil

Grade 11: Daniel Shaw, Brian Ndamandama

Vision:
The RCL is a place where boys can bring solutions they've found for some of the problems in the school or can express ideas for the improvement of the school, whilst maintaining the traditional values of Wynberg. The RCL strives to convey the school's ideas in the best possible way to the right people to get real results. The RCL this year will use House representatives to link the individual to the ideas and issues of the school and effectively iron out any problems the pupils may have.

We want the RCL to be seen as an active force in the school and an honour to be a part of.

Goals:

  • To use the House representatives effectively to form a proper connection between the RCL and the school.
  • To improve the visibility of the RCL by meeting the concerns and suggestions of our fellow learners.
  • To make the RCL members active in solving the problems of the school.
  • To bring the Campus of Wynberg schools closer together.
  • To make a funny, respectable, relevant, original Wynbergian a regular publication.
  • To maintain an up to date web page and notice board.
  • To get the RCL members recognised for work they've done.

Come and Join Us

With the departure of 2007’s Matrics, Murray Bing replaces Richard Mandy as Head of the RCL.

To clarify an old issue: the RCL is NOT a closed society of uncool people who find it fun to waste break in C34 ... the RCL is actually an open group that is available to anyone to join and to participate in. The RCL is there to take the issues and problems that the school has and either resolve them, or provide a reason as to why that issue cannot be resolved.

So basically, where I'm going with this, is to invite you to something that you do not need an invite to, namely the RCL meetings in C34 every Wednesday  at 2nd break
.. and if you are using eating as an excuse, you may bring your lunch with you!!!

So hope to see you next Wednesday, 2
nd break, C34!!!
