Jamie Tindill - In Memoriam
Jamie Tindill It is with immense sadness that the school has to report the death of one of its Grade 11 pupils, seventeen year old Jamie Tindill, in a freak accident on Saturday 29 December.

Bathing at a beach at Club Mycenos with two friends, he was caught by a strong riptide while only in knee deep water.  He was swept out. Rescuers pulled in the other two swimmers but were unable to help him.

He is survived by his mother and young sister, Sam (9).

Jamie was just coming in to his own as a pupil at Wynberg.  Recently elected as a Prefect in charge of Service, he threw himself whole-heartedly into the Portfolio and was determined to make a difference.  He led from the front and was making a name for himself as someone with vision, ideas and an impressive work ethic.  He had recently spent the first week of the school holidays representing the WP u20 Chess team.

This is a senseless tragedy and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
