Some of the Masters at Littlewood took advantage of the recent good weather to take the boys to the beach. Armed with packed lunches and cookies supplied by the Matrons, the boys travelled by train – a first for many of them – to Danger Beach, St James.
After lunch, they played touch rugby with the masters - Mr Crous, Mr van Winkel and Mr Rudd, whereafter, reports Mr Rudd, the boys “…set about watching the girls and getting some numbers. Some took up surfing with not much success and watched the masters show them how. We then engaged in a wrestling match where all boys took on the three masters”. Mr Rudd’s not telling who won the match, but it was clearly a fun-filled day on the beach much enjoyed by all.
