The introduction of information technology at Wynberg Boys' High School has been very well received. The subject has piqued the interest of many boys, so much so, that next year (2007) there will be two grade 10 IT classes to cater for the volume of learners who want to take the subject.

The wonderful thing about IT is that most boys learn something totally new every day. Learners are constantly challenged to think in different ways in order to solve real-world problems.

The practicality of the subject adds to its appeal as what is learnt is applied immediately and the specific outcomes of learning can be seen and tested directly.

In real life we learn through our mistakes. Unfortunately the school system often punishes error with failure. The introduction of IT actively encourages trial and error learning and the learner is rewarded for it.

There is nothing more satisfying than debugging your program, compiling is successfully and seeing your labour of logic in all its glory!
